Thousands of people are looking for a work at home jobs these days. If you are looking for a work at home job, a data entry, or typing job may seem like the perfect job for you. However, it’s easy to fall for one of the many data entry scams that are advertised all over the internet. Oftentimes, when we think of the term “work from home”, we think of a Mom busily typing away at her computer, with her children playing quietly in the background. In this scenario, what is that mother typing; what work is she doing? Perhaps she has landed one of those easy data entry jobs that we see advertisements for – making $500 a day. Her husband is probably our playing golf, because of course, she’s making enough money that he doesn’t have to work. After she gets done with her short 4-hour work day, she’ll probably go shopping and the family will go out for dinner at a 5-star restaurant. Does this sound too good to be true? It is! Read on to find out how distinguish fact from fiction in the work at home data entry arena.First of all, I want to make it perfectly clear that there is no legitimate typing job that will make you rich, whether you work full time or part time. You aren’t going to make hundreds of dollars a day, and your husband is not going to be able to quit his job. Actually, you might even be rather disappointed with your level of income, should you manage to land one of the much-sought-after legitimate data entry jobs that are available.The first rule of avoiding data entry scams is Do Not Pay. That’s right, if they ask for money for start-up fees, materials or anything else, don’t take the bait. It’s either an outright scam or some sort of “opportunity” that involves posting the same ad you’re reading to get other people to pay you money to tell them how to do the same thing. This is not a real J-O-B and isn’t an honest way to earn a living.The second rule of avoiding data entry scams is to take a good look at the website. Does it have pictures of money, cruise liners, fancy cars, big houses and happy people on vacation? Does it have huge colorful font and “testimonials”? When you find a website like this, scroll all the way to the bottom to find the information about how much you need to pay, refer to my first rule above and leave that website immediately!Some of the most well known legit data entry jobs include transcription. General, medical and legal transcription jobs all exist in the work at home field. Currently, there are at least three transcription companies who hire people with no experience but who pass their test to work from home.Many legitimate typing jobs can be found locally. Sometimes they involve picking up work from a local office, taking it home, typing it up according to specification and returning the work to the office. Sometimes these types of jobs can be found advertised on Craigslist. However, you must be careful because many more scams than real jobs can be found there.
