Build An Avon Business, But Start With Yourself
Being an Avon Representative is a great way to improve your income. Many people even have Avon as their only source of income and are very successful. There are many things that separate successful Avon Representatives from unsuccessful representatives, but one stands out in my mind as being the one most overlooked by new Avon Representatives, and perhaps the most important.It’s image. You are a billboard for your Avon business, and it’s up to you to make it a positive advertisement. You are the first thing that your potential customers see. What do your potential customer see when they look at you?If you’re unsure it’s time to get out a mirror and ask yourself some tough questions. What do you see when you look in a mirror? Do you see a confident, well-groomed, successful woman or do you see a stressed mom in a tattered t-shirt and baggy sweats? I know what I saw when I mentally did this exercise and it was not a pretty sight! Let’s just say for a good part of my life pajamas counted as clothes. Yikes! I hadn’t realized just how little effort I was putting into my appearance.It doesn’t take long to get dressed properly in the mornings, but it can seem like it takes forever if you’ve become accustom to living in sweats and pajamas, you may not even know where to begin to improve. That’s where I come in. There are a few things that you can do everyday to better your image, and you will see the difference it makes in your business and in the way you feel about yourself.Take the time for self-care and personal hygiene in the mornings. Make sure you’ve showered, brushed your teeth, fixed your hair, and have applied moisturizer before you leave the house. (These are the bare minimum.)
Wear some make up. You are in a beauty based business, and Avon has some absolutely wonderful makeup with shades for every woman’s taste. It doesn’t take much to go a long way.
Care for your skin. Skin care products make up a large part of products Avon has to offer. If you don’t use them, how can you recommend them to others. Avon’s Anew line of products is amazing!
Dress in something other than jeans and a t-shirt. Jeans, a blouse (You know, a shirt that has buttons, ruffles, structure, or some other form of embelishment and style.), and shoes other than sneakers. You could try a pretty pair of Avon Sandals.
Use Avon Products. I have already touched on this, but it’s worth mentioning again. Carry an Avon hand bag, wear Avon clothes, shoes, or jewlery. Every time you leave the house have something from Avon on or with you.
Carry Avon lotion with you. Make a habit of using Avon lotion when you are out. Use it in line, in waiting rooms, anywhere you have a few minutes where you have to wait. Don’t just use it, offer some to the woman sitting next to you. She may be your next customer.The main thing to remember is to present yourself to the world in a proper manner each day. You never know who you may meet when you leave the comfort of your home, so you should always be prepared to make the best first impression possible. Being an Avon Representative doesn’t require you to wear 3 piece suits and heels every day, but you really should be aware of your appearance. Would you buy Avon from you?
