Can You Make It?

There are a lot of sales copy out there. We all have seen them. All promising the riches and glory of endless money and prosperity. My belief is, only about 5% (if that much) of them are legitimate opportunities that can give you an income working from home.I do believe that it is true that the sky is the limit on the income potential. However, it is all relative to the amount of time that you are willing to spend to get your business started. It is equally relative to the programs that you invest in to get started. What do I mean by this?Simply put, if you spend one hour a day getting your business off the ground, yes, at some point you may be making money but it is likely that it will take far longer to get the traffic than if you spent 2-3 hours or more. It is possible to have a fully automated site that allows you to make money doing relatively little to it. But do not expect it to make millions in the first day. Why?It is simple. When your site goes up, it will have no traffic going to it. It will become one of, literally, millions of websites one the world wide web. It will not have been crawled by the search engines, therefore having no ranking at all, or even showing up in the search results. Without perseverance, it will become another failed, static page with no value or visitors, and another casualty of the web.Can I avoid this?Absolutely. But it does take work. And a willingness to put work into it. There is no real “magic key” to do this for you. At this point, you may be worried about risking investing a lot of money into a venture that may fail. The good news is, you don’t have to. Although there are many good paid resources out there to get your site noticed, and in some cases, paid is better, there are also almost unlimited free resources that can help get you noticed. Just remember, paid resources tend to get noticed quicker than free resources. Therefore, with free resources you will not be spending any money, you will likely be spending far more time in reaching the potential traffic. Is that a bad thing? That is dependent on you. If you do not mind spending more time on your marketing efforts, and if you are a marketer by trade, you probably don’t, then free resources can draw almost, if not the same, amount of traffic as paid resources. Ultimately, the choice is entirely up to you. The benefit is, you can always start with free resources and switch to paid, or vice versa. But what about search engines? There are differing opinions on the value of search engines. I happen to believe that they can play a vital role in getting potential buyers to your site. Some people claim that all you get is a flood of non-targeted traffic. I do not believe that if you use the proper keywords for your site and not just everything that you can think of. For instance, if some of my keywords are internet marketing, then if my site shows up in Google if someone types in Internet Marketing, then chances are I will receive targeted traffic from someone looking for information about internet marketing because that is what they typed as their search. There are ups and downs to everything, but the best you can do is try different options. If it doesn’t work, switch it up! Perseverance is the key to being able to make an income online.
