Bee keeping is an interesting hobby that a lot people enjoy. I want to share some tips and information on the subject of bee keeping. For the most part bees play a vital role in the pollination of the local plants and flowers in the area. So they are very beneficial to the local gardeners, having bees pollinating there crops. If your the bee keeper you get to also enjoy the honey or sell the honey for profit.TIPS Hive Placement- It’s important for know that where you are planning to place the hive is not going to cause problems later on down the road. Such as, around your neighbors. Check with your neighbors and assure them that you know what you are doing. You just don’t want to have to move the hives if it is not necessary to do so. Safety- Always wear protective clothing when handling the the hive. Use a smoker to help calm the bees and mask the pheromone that they produce to signal an attack when the hive is threatened. Wear a hat with a veil to protect you face and neck from bee stings. Wear gloves to help protect your hands as well. Health of the Hive- Learn the signs of health issues that can affect the colony. There are different diseases that can kill off the colonies, so you need to get informed on how to recognize such diseases and give the proper treatment needed to get the hive healthy again. Pest Control- Get familiar with the different insects and other animals that prey on bees so you can defend the hive from these natural enemies. Honey is the main reason that people take up the hobby of bee keeping. The natural flavor of honey is welcome at almost every household. So this can also be a very profitable hobby to get into. Just remember that if your bees are not happy you will not be happy with the honey they produce, so keep the happy and best of luck.
