Vending Machine Locators
Vending machine locators are companies that help you find businesses to place your vending machines in. This is a great way to efficiently expand your business and grow at a pace that will far exceed that if you were placing your own machines. There are two primary types of vending machine locators. Those include telemarketing and in person locators. From a logistics stand point it is a far easier proposition to hire a telemarketing locator to locate your vending machines. In person locators are going to need to fly or drive out which is an increased expense.Telemarketing allows for the generation of lead lists that can categorize businesses by business type and the number of employees. This goes a long way into being able to target profitable businesses for your machines. The first round of cold calls to businesses is generally a feeler for when the best time to speak with the manager is. When a good time is secured they will call back and speak with the manager. In person locators are forced to go business to business on foot. This is very inefficient and produces a lot of sub par locations. A second issue with in person locators is the fact that 90% of them are sub contractors. This means you are hiring a company who employs a sub contract worker to actually go out and do your job. They may claim that this person is the best in the business but the truth is they have probably never met the person doing your job.Beware of in person locators requesting 50% down. It may sound counter intuitive but it is far less risky to pay 100% up front for a telemarketing locator then it is to pay 50% down for an in person locator. This is due to the fact that the 50% down to the in person locator is going directly to the profit of the “broker” that is going to send a sub contractor to your area. These sub contractors will get the other 50% after they secure your locations. You will be instructed to pay them and only pay them once they get your locations. There are going to be long and tedious contracts for the first 50% down and you will most likely be forced to pay this with cash or check. The better way to go is to hire a telemarketing locator. They will most likely request the money all up front, however, you will be able to pay with credit cards or PayPal. This is far less risky and ensures that you are dealing with a reputable company. Make sure that if they accept credit cards that they have their own merchant account and are not just going to send you a PayPal invoice. Telemarketing locators with their own merchant account’s means that they have a very low 0-1% charge back rate. Knowing this you can rest easy that you will not be taken advantage of.
